HIEM is pleased to welcome Glenn Crocker to Health Innovation East Midlands as an Independent Director
Dr Glenn Crocker MBE is Health Innovation East Midlands’ new Independent Director, bringing a wealth of experience to our Governance Board.
Glenn has wide experience of the commercial health sector and has worked in the UK and US in a range of roles, including his current position as Executive Director of Pioneer Group.
Glenn said: “I have been involved in a number of collaborations with Health Innovation East Midlands over the past few years, and I believe strongly in what the organisation is seeking to achieve – unlocking the potential for innovation to transform patient outcomes and generate efficiencies for our health and care systems.
“The NHS and wider care sector continue to face unprecedented challenges and organisations like Health Innovation East Midlands play a central role in working across health, research and commercial sectors, developing partnerships and testing out and implementing new and better ways of working.”
As a member of the HIEM Governance Board, Glenn will support the development and implementation of our strategy, initially for two years.
He replaces previous Independent Director Dr Janet Worrell, whose term of office ended in October 2023.
Health Innovation East Midlands Independent Chair, Martin Hindle, said:
“I am delighted to welcome Glenn to our Governance Board. He brings a wealth and diversity of experience which will complement the knowledge of our colleagues.
“In particular, Glenn’s outstanding knowledge and experience of the commercial world and life sciences sector affirms our commitment both to transforming health outcomes and to stimulating growth and investment for the East Midlands economy.
“I would also like to thank Janet Worrell for her years of service to our organisation; her knowledge and insight were greatly valued, and we wish her the very best for all of her future endeavours.”
In addition to his role of Executive Director of the Pioneer Group – which supports the growth of the life sciences sector – Glenn is a Director of the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Local Enterprise Partnership (D2N2 LEP).
Glenn achieved his doctorate at Oxford University through work in the area of immunology. He was awarded the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in 2014 in recognition of his contribution to the biotechnology industry, and received the Nottingham Award in 2013 for services to the city.
